Cross-country comes in sixth at Cardinal Gibbons Invitational

Freshman Austin Camps led the boys’ varsity cross-country team with a time of 17:12.42, placing 14th out of 164 other competitors at the Cardinal Gibbons Invitational at Mills Pond Park in Ft. Lauderdale on the 4th.  As a whole, the varsity team came in at 6th overall out of 23 other schools.

“So far this season, I feel like we’ve bettered ourselves from last year’s season,” said senior Ian Chan.

The Junior Varsity team had their meet the following day at St. Cloud High School and was lead by Alex Devlin with a time of 23:29.71, placing 22nd out of 70 other athletes.  The JV team also placed 6th overall, but unlike the varsity team, there were only 9 schools in the JV division.

This Saturday will be cross-countries Donut Run fundraiser at West Shore.
