Junior Lydia Kline takes on two Cocoa High School defenders in a 2012 game.

Led by junior Lydia Kline, who tallied 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, the girls’ varsity basketball team, remained undefeated, knocking off the Holy Trinity Tigers on Monday night by a score of 56-33.

“Our defense was stifling,” Kline said. “Our good defense led to easy fast breaks, we got run-out lay-ups, which allowed us to boost the score.”

Sophomore Gillian Foster scored 16 points, and Junior Rebecca Castillo recorded 15 points.

The team next plays at home on Thursday against the undefeated MCC Hustlers. JV tips off at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

“Our next game will be very difficult, so we will have to play to the best of our ability to win,” Kline said.
