Lady Wildcats pull out close win
The middle schools girls’ basketball team improved to 5-0 with a 28-22 victory against Cocoa Beach in its closest game of the season.
“We struggled to get our offense going in the first half and had to reset the base offense to get things moving again,” Coach George Derr said.
On the other hand, Derr said he is impressed by the way the team is working together and constantly improving.
“Our team continues to develop their skill set and to learn how to play effectively as a unit,” he said.
The team travels to Cocoa on Tuesday for a rematch from Sept. 10 against the 3-1 Tigers.
“I expect our team to respond to the challenge and be prepared for what Cocoa has in store for them,” Derr said.
