Freshman Austin Camps led the boys’ Varsity Cross-Country team at districts in Cocoa Beach with a time of 16:25.70.  He placed fourth overall individually and helped the varsity team qualify for regionals.  This was also Camp’s best personal time.

“Austin has always been a hard worker and always comes to practice  motivated  and positive.  He likes to joke around, but it doesn’t take away from his intensity at practice,” team captain Ian Chan said.

The fact that last year the team didn’t make it to regionals also adds to the achievement the cross country team had last Saturday.

“It’s exciting and a relief to be going to regionals  because we were projected to get  seventh at districts, but we ended up placing fourth,” Ian Chan said.

The varsity cross-country team heads out to the Regional Championship in Ft. Lauderdale this Saturday.
