The girls’ varsity soccer team will play for the district crown tonight.

The girls’ varsity soccer team will take on archrival Edgewood in the District 8-2A final tonight at Cocoa, after knocking off Melbourne Central Catholic 3-1 in a semifinal match earlier this week. The game will start at 6 p.m.

“I feel super-pumped,” junior Michelle Adams said. “I really think we have a good chance of winning if we give it our all.”

Adams added that she thinks all the seniors will really step up because these next games will be their last on their high-school team.

Junior Lucia Carcieri said she feels confident that if the Lady Wildcats play like they did against MCC, they will have a good chance at a win.

“I think we gained a lot of confidence through the semifinal game and bringing that into Friday will help us a lot,” she said. “Also Maci Pekmezian and Elena Barr will be very influential. they are skillful and consistent players.”
