The Wildcat boys’ soccer team beat Astronaut 8-0 Friday night. With this victory, the ‘Cats improved to 5-0 on the season. Freshman Ian Leighton scored for the Wildcats.
“[The game] was good,” Leighton said. “We won 8-0 and a lot of players got on the field. The ball movement was good, and getting the young players on the field and getting them experience was good. The other team wasn’t that great.”
Leighton’s goal came via an assist from senior Robert Madden.
“The ball was bouncing out,” Leighton said. “Robert tapped it back and I just hit it first-time on the ground, bottom corner.”
The Wildcats next play tonight against Montverde Academy, in Clermont, FL. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.
