State fair brings rides, shows, and food
The most anticipated attraction of fall has arrived: the fair. The annual Space Coast State Fair will not only consist of the carnival rides, but also exotic foods found nowhere else.
“I’ve never seen fried Oreos anywhere else,” senior Lindsay Gorham said. “That was interesting to try because I’ve never really thought about actually eating Oreos that are fried. It’s a weird concept but they’re pretty good and I tried them at the fair.”
The fair will also include events such as circus shows, bull riding shows, and monster truck shows as well as a Veteran’s Day celebration, “Hope4Heroes” Stadium Exhibition. The bull riding shows will only be present from Nov. 8 to Nov. 10, and the Monster Truck Madness shows from Nov. 13 to 17.
“Going with friends is just a fun different thing to do in Melbourne,” senior Michelle Smith said.
Admission costs $12 on Fridays through Sundays and $10 on Mondays though Thursdays. All rides and shows are free. A new feature this year, Fast Access Passes, will be available at the gate for an additional $8, and provide a reduced waiting time in lines. The fair will be located at 5800 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne, FL 32940. Operating hours are from 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays. The fair will open at 1 p.m. on Veteran’s Day (Monday, November 11). Parking is $5.

"In 7th grade I had signed up for a [field trip to] Canada but it was canceled because COVID pushed it off so much, so when Mrs. Pietrzak brought up that they were doing a D-Day field trip to Europe, I thought that was really cool and I knew that I definitely wanted to do a trip while I was at West Shore so I took the opportunity," Amelia Bailly '25 said.](https://westshoreroar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/edbc27cd-da37-43d3-9ac9-0f38a21bbe02-1200x675.jpg)
