Boys beat Space Coast in OT thriller

The middle school boys’ basketball team won in overtime against Space Coast 52-50, bringing its record to 4-3.

The boys were led by Lorenzo M. with 10 points. Following an all-around solid performance in the extra four minutes, Coach Derrick Hamilton was proud of his squad for leaving it all on the court.

“This was our best game of the year,” Hamilton said. “Overtime is always exciting. We had a couple turnovers down the stretch but the kids really played solidly in overtime and they really showed something on Thursday.”

With only one game remaining in the regular season, Hamilton hopes the Cats can finish the season strong.

“We need to beat Edgewood on Tuesday and hopefully finish 5-3,” he said. “We aren’t going to make the playoffs, but it would be good to give Edgewood their first loss.”

The boys play their last game on the road.
