Displaying his project in front of the class, ninth-grader Cole Yorio shows off his handmade lyre, or small harp, for Latin’s Junior Classical League competition.  The objective for the assignment was to create something that related to Latin or Greek culture.

“It took me about 5 hours to make,” Yorio said. “Last year at Latin Forum I won an award for my sword, and I’m pretty sure I’ll win another this year.”   

Yorio chose to build a lyre because he thought it was cool and interesting.
