Middle school SGA collects food for Children’s Home Society

The Middle School Student Government Association is coordinating assistance to the Children’s Home Society of Florida Holiday Food Drive.

“We’ve been wanting to do a food drive for a while now,” SGA President Rachel M. said. “A girl in SGA had connection to the organization so we decided to do a food drive to help the kids.”

Club treasurer Kenzie S. says she is hoping people get into the holiday spirit and donate to kids in need.

“Since it’s around the holidays people are more likely to give,” Kenzie said. “We really hope for a good outcome, and that a lot of people will help the children because even just giving a little makes a difference.”

Donations of non-perishable food items such as bottled waters, canned vegetables, and pasta will be accepted until Dec. 17 in first period classrooms.

“We plan on having [another food drive] in the spring after Easter, so I hope [people] help out in that one,” Rachel said.
