Chukwunenye again named player of the week
March 9, 2017
Senior Amugo Chukwunenye named “Player of the Week” by Florida Today, after scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Tampa Berkeley Prep for the Class 2A state championship Feb. 16.
Chukwunenye received 50 percent of the 1,694 votes collected online for five athletes represented.
Chukwunenye said he earned the honor by playing for the school and not just for himself.
Teammate Cameron Yeutter, a sophomore, said he was surprised upon hearing that.
“It’s kind of crazy, I didn’t think anyone had done that before,” Yeutter said.
This is his second time being named “Player of the Week.” The first time it was Spectrum sports that gave him that title.
