The senior cheerleaders visited the University of Central Florida to experience its homecoming festivities last weekend.
The annual field trip to UCF homecoming weekend serves as a bonding experience before the cheer season officially starts.
During Spirit Splash, participants wade into the university’s reflecting pond.
“During Spirit Splash, they have a pep rally where the cheerleaders and dancers perform,” senior Allie Kellner said. “At the end, they throw rubber ducks [into the pond]. They are really hard to get because everyone wants one. It gets really viscous.”
On Saturday, the seniors attended the homecoming football game and watched the college cheer team perform.
“The UCF homecoming game was a lot of fun because we had first row seats and got to chant along with the student section,” senior Briana Sandoval said. “It was a really cool thing to be a part of.”
