Boys to host regional semifinal Saturday

Senior Nick Burgess scored two goals on free kicks, sophomore Chase Hester and junior Dylan O’Brien each added one at the boys’ varsity soccer team knocked out Lake Highland Prep 4-1 in the 2A Regional quarterfinal Wednesday night. Goalkeeper Cooper Stein logged four saves.
“The game went pretty well,” O’Brien said. “It was pretty rough, they were really a dirty team but its a good thing we have so many talented players to overcome that and it ended up being pretty easy.”
The 16-3-0 Wildcats will next play host to Bishop Moore in the regional semifinal Saturday at 7 p.m. Admission to the game is $7.
“I think we’re going to annihilate [Bishop Moore],” O’Brien said. “Hopefully we can put together a run to states.”
