Earlier this year, alumna Shelbe Spurlock comes back to art to visit.

Alumni Day will take place on May 7, an event where past students return to the school to relate of their experiences after graduation.

“It’s good for the kids to come back and explain to the new people going to college to the ins and outs of their first year in college,” Senior Seminar teacher Amanda Kopp said.

Alumni will share advice and tips on how to make friends in college, picking classes, and housing dilemmas during Senior Seminar classes.

“Sometimes we have some alumni come back that tell us that their West Shore experiences or how they performed at West Shore was less than how they wanted to, and that they’ve discovered how to be a better student once they got to college,” Kopp said. “They come back and they get our students now to sometimes do that once they get to college, and that’s really interesting to see that transformation.”
