AP Environmental Science students burn an almond under a tin can filled with water to determine its calorie count for a lab on Thursday, Sept. 17. “We’re learning about, like, food and how different parts of the world are more nourished or less nourished,” senior Hannah Struckman said. “We just started this chapter so I was a little confused but I thought this lab was fun because I got to light things on fire so oh well.” This was the students’ first APES lab of the school year.
