Students participated in the State Science Fair in Lakeland on March 26, and two students — junior Chris Estevez and sophomore Sid Patsamatla — qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) competition.
The State Science Fair required tremendous amounts of effort from its competitors.
“Preparing for the Science Fair was truly like a whole year-long journey,” sophomore Eshan Vipuil said after winning first place in the Math and Computation category at districts.
Vipuil said his research can create a lasting impression on the world.
“My project was about using virtual reality to model blood flow,” Vipuil said. “It can be used to diagnose vascular disorders in the future.”
Additionally, Vipuil felt that his efforts were recognized at the competition.
“Receiving the recognition award reflects how my work was recognized at the state level,” Vipuil said.
Patsamatla, the best in show at the Regional Science Fair competition, said that his achievement would impact beyond the competition.
“I hope to eventually have my research become like a current market solution,” Patsamatla said.
