Wildcats split two-game set with Cocoa Beach

After losing to Cocoa Beach 52-50 in an away game Tuesday, the boys’ varsity basketball team returned the favor knocking off the Minutemen 42-40 in a home game Friday.

Sophomore and power forward Beau Couture was the lead scorer of the first game with 17 points.

“We came into these two games with the mentality that nothing was promised, kind of making the nerves go away, which showed on Tuesday,” Couture said.

Thursday night’s game marked the team’s 10th victory this season .

“These kids work really hard and they practice every day,” Coach Corey Burton said. “There’s still a lot of work to do. They’re a young group but they’re building and developing.”

The Wildcats will go against John Carroll Catholic in a home game Monday at 6 p.m.
