Middle school girls take down Hawks 45-7
September 15, 2016
Desiree S. (8) led the way for the Wildcats with 17 points as they beat Viera Charter to improve to 3-1 on the season. Savannah Hughes (8) added 8 points as well.
“We had just come off an unfortunate loss to Space Coast,” coach Derrick Hamilton said. “I knew they would be ready to play. We have a good group of girls, and they went out there and played. [We could have won] by a lot more, because Viera Charter is really not that good.
“Our new 3-2 defense is confusing for opposing middle school teams. We shut off all the avenues for scoring, teams get nervous.”
The girls play again next Tuesday at Cocoa Beach at 5 p.m. When they played Cocoa Beach earlier in the season, they came away with a 44-27 win.
