Singers hit the right notes at All-County Festival
February 8, 2017
Nine Wildcats from the chorus department performed at the King Center as part of Brevard’s annual All-County Festival on Saturday.
“There is a total of three rehearsals in the days leading up to the concert,” Chorus Director Amy Davis said. “There is one for two hours on the Thursday before the concert, then a full day rehearsal on Friday and a two-hour rehearsal the day of. There are three different groups performing, but at different times. Chorus is the first concert of the day.”
This year, the clinician for high-school chorus was Dr. Cara Tasher, director of choral studies at the University of North Florida. Tasher led the rehearsals on Friday and Saturday .
“My favorite part was honestly how energetic and spunky Dr. Tasher was,” junior Tessa Smith said. “She inspired me to have fun and learn while doing so, although I also loved seeing old friends from camp and making some new ones. This was my first year doing All-County. I am definitely planning on doing it next year, which will sadly be my last since I will be a senior.”

"In 7th grade I had signed up for a [field trip to] Canada but it was canceled because COVID pushed it off so much, so when Mrs. Pietrzak brought up that they were doing a D-Day field trip to Europe, I thought that was really cool and I knew that I definitely wanted to do a trip while I was at West Shore so I took the opportunity," Amelia Bailly '25 said.](https://westshoreroar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/edbc27cd-da37-43d3-9ac9-0f38a21bbe02-1200x675.jpg)
