Senior Malik Richardson recently earned his open water scuba diving certification from Hatts Diving headquarters. Richardson achieved his goal as part of his Senior Project.
“I saw really pretty fish and sharks, and I had no idea there were so many different kinds of coral in the ocean,” Richardson said.
Richardson’s earned his certification at Blue Heron Bridge, a popular scuba diving spot in West Palm Beach.
“It was a great experience and I plan on scuba diving a lot in the future,” he said.
Richardson wrote his Senior Project paper on preserving marine ecosystems including coral reefs.
“I thought it was going to be really hard to get my certificate, but it was actually pretty simple as long as I stayed calm and paid close attention to the instructor,” Richardson said.
