Old structure repurposed as storage room
February 24, 2019
Students at lunch might have noticed work being done on an old structure located outside the fence near School Resource Officer Valerie Butler’s office. The previous electrical vault room between the cafeteria and classrooms is being transformed into a storage space for custodians.
“It was where the electricity came into the school prior to the creation of West Shore,” Assistant Principal Catherine Halbuer said. “I asked for it to be a storage location since we were losing space in the boiler room.”
Halbuer said she is pleased the formerly roofless structure will be put to good use.
“I am glad we will be able to turn it into a viable building,” Halbuer said.
Halbuer said it will not impact students.
“[It] should not be a major impact,” Halbuer said.
