Boys prevail at MS track meet
October 27, 2020
The middle-school boys’ track team took the top four spots in the 800-meter run at a Central Middle School track meet Monday.
“Our next track meet is on Monday, and we will kick butt again,” Coach Melissa Landmesser said.
Eighth-grader Carter, was skeptical of how the team would do at this meet.
“We raced at Central middle school and the track was pretty worn down, but it worked out fine,” Carter said.
Although the conditions of the track were nowhere near ideal conditions, the boys team still pulled through.
“In the 400 meter run, I placed first overall,” Carter said.
Considering the time of day the meet was held, freshman Adrian Delia, a spectator at the meet, was surprised at the results.
“It was hot, and I was just watching them run,” Delia said. “Our high-school meets are in the afternoon as well, but having it in the spring really brings the temperatures down. I am glad our season high school track season was not moved to the fall, like their season was. My times would have been way off because of the temperature and interference with cross-country.”
