During Power Hour in the commons area, a voter registration table was set up to help students register to vote. U.S. Government teacher Austin Glezen encouraged participation, stating, The only time we do not have a voice is when we choose not to share it. The on-campus drive was part of the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Your Vote is Your Voice campaign aimed at boosting youth voter turnout.

You’re either Team Conrad, Team Jeremiah or completely out of the loop when it comes to “The Summer I Turned Pretty, ” an Amazon Prime streaming sensation based on a series of popular teen romance books. The story hinges on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers. Fans who attend West Shore make it clear which brother should end up with the girl.

Forty-five freshmen were selected to go on a field trip to the Florida Institute of Technology last Tuesday to meet author and adventurer Erik Weihenmayer known for his most notable achievement: climbing Mount Everest while blind. “I think [Weihenmayer] conveyed the message quite well because he gave lots of personal stories and it has helped me sort of relate to him,” freshman Joe Matella said.

With the departure of former Chorus teacher Amy Stephens, a new face takes her place. Kristin Ross, previously a Chorus teacher at Melbourne High School and Hoover Middle School takes the lead in the music department. “Mrs. Ross is young, she understands [where we are coming from], I think it’ll go smoothly,” sophomore Julian Lopez De Victoria said.
