Freshmen have the opportunity to meet author Erik Weihenmayer

Forty-five+freshmen+were+selected+to+go+on+a+field+trip+to+the+Florida+Institute+of+Technology+last+Tuesday+to+meet+author+and+adventurer+Erik+Weihenmayer+known+for+his+most+notable+achievement%3A+climbing+Mount+Everest+while+blind.+%E2%80%9CI+think+%5BWeihenmayer%5D+conveyed+the+message+quite+well+because+he+gave+lots+of+personal+stories+and+it+has+helped+me+sort+of+relate+to+him%2C%E2%80%9D+freshman+Joe+Matella+said.
Forty-five freshmen were selected to go on a field trip to the Florida Institute of Technology last Tuesday to meet author and adventurer Erik Weihenmayer known for his most notable achievement: climbing Mount Everest while blind. “I think [Weihenmayer] conveyed the message quite well because he gave lots of personal stories and it has helped me sort of relate to him,” freshman Joe Matella said.
