Along with the new yearbook adviser, there was another change to the yearbook team this year. There was a large increase in the number of team members compared to last year, and the extra people have helped the teams focus more and get more done.

In her second year on staff, Chloe Lemstrom (11) said she has been happily surprised by the staff’s size.

“There’s close to 40 people which is about 12 more than last year,” Lemstrom said. “We have two chronological teams, a sports team, a social media team, a business team and an ads team, so we’re able to get a lot more done.”

With the bigger teams, the staff can focus more on things that they couldn’t before.

“We’re able to do a lot more with social media which I’m really excited about because its a lot easier to connect with the student body,” Lemstrom said. “Now its very interactive, very involved and overall just a lot bigger of an operation.”

Additionally, new yearbook member Caroline Cahill (10) said she enjoys the large teams.

“This is my first year on the team, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but having a big yearbook staff is pretty awesome,” Cahill said. “We get a lot of stuff done and are able to do a lot more. For example our social media team is a lot more active this year because we actually have a team to work on it.”

The response to the increase in members was mostly positive, however there are some downsides.

“It does get a bit cramped sometimes with 37 people in the yearbook room, especially when the air-conditioning is out,” Cahill said.
