Storm-impacted Wolfpack falls to Cocoa Beach

The Wolfpack Boys lacrosse team lost to the Cocoa Beach Colonials 12-10 on Oct. 15. After two weeks off, the team had to adapt and overcome the missed practices from Hurricane Irma. The team missed three practices and two games. Head coach Pat Roth and assistant coach Chris Johnson shared displeasure about the missed days.

“For us the missed days are very significant,” Roth said. “We only have one practice and game a week, so the practices are crucial for player development.”

Johnson, who is a sophomore, said he felt the same way as Coach Roth.

“I love passing on the game to the next generation,” Johnson said. “And the hurricane gave us a week less to get our stuff together.”

Seventh-grader Ryan H. was also displeased with the lack of preparation for the games.

“I was a little upset because I wanted to practice as much as possible,” he said.

The team takes on the Rockledge Buccaneers and Viera Vipers on Sunday at Viera Regional Park.
