Boys’ soccer opens with 8-2 victory

Junior Collin Robidoux scored two goals to lead the boys’ varsity soccer team to an 8-2 victory against Heritage on Tuesday despite a rocky start.

“We felt like we had to win big to set the tone for the rest of the season,” Robidoux said. “But they scored in the first minute which we didn’t really expect. We handled it really well though and ended up scoring two goals quickly after that.”

Junior Ian Leighton said the team needs to make adjustments going forward.

“We need to tighten up the defense and stop conceding such easy goals,” Leighton said. “I’m proud of the boys though, even though we conceded within the first minute, we came back and played our game.”

Robidoux scored two of the eight goals.

“It felt good to score two of the goals in the first game of our regular season because it gave me confidence,” Robidoux said. “ I hope I can carry the into the next games to help the team out.”
