Greek festival attracts thousands

This weekend marked the celebration of Greek culture at Saint Katherine’s Church in Suntree. The festival included Greek food and entertainment including cultural dances. There was a bouncy house area for the younger kids. Grecian jewelry and clothes were sold as well. Junior Rudi Larkin attended the festival to see some of his friends dance and to visit those who volunteered.

“Greek Fest was extremely enjoyable, the dancing and food was out of my comfort zone, yet it was very fun,” he said. “The people were full of passion and culture and they were very accommodating to all the guests. The food was quite expensive but it’s for the church, so it was worth it.”

Junior Madison Newcombe said she attended the festival with an open mind.

“I really enjoyed seeing the Greek culture and the food was incredible,” she said. “It was also cool to see people my age get so involved with their culture.”
