Girls’ soccer to open vs. Heritage on Monday

The varsity girls’ soccer team handed Eau Gallie a 10-0 defeat to finish the preseason 4-0-0 and giving the players cause to set their sights on a district championship.

“We had great results and are trying to keep it that way,” Brooklyn Stellato (10) said. “We still train hard and go into any game with the mindset that we may lose, so you must try you’re absolute hardest. The team communication is key and pass connections are good.  I just need to get my head straight and stop anything that comes my way.”

Catrina Carl (9) said she expects the preseason play to carry over into the regular season.

” [With] the Eau Gallie game, it was really fun and good way to work on our way of transitioning and communication for the season,” she said. “I wish to improve the speed of the game and work on [the] mental part of the game. With the outcomes of our preseason games, I really believe we will do very well in our season to come.”

The girls will open their season against Heritage High School at 7 tonight and will travel to Merritt Island for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday.
