Girls’ lacrosse falls to Melbourne

The girls’ lacrosse team fell to the Melbourne High School Bulldogs 18-6 on Feb. 22. The team was lead by eighth-grader Allison R. with 12 saves on 30 shots. West Shore also had three scorers, Lexi V. with three goals, Hannah LeBeau with two goals and Isabel Richards with one goal.

“I think I did pretty well as far as saving and clearing,” Allison R. said. “But I could have done a lot better running the defense.”

The team later fell to a record of 0-2 after a loss to the Viera Hawks 21-1 on Feb. 26.

“For future games I will work on clearing the ball further and more accurate so it is less work for the defense,” Allison R. said. “I think as a team we need to work on conditioning.”

The girls will play Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Friday at 5:30 p.m. then another game at Sebastian River on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
