Cheer team to honor seniors at tonight’s game

The cheerleading team will celebrate its Senior Night during this evening’s home varsity basketball game against Odyssey Charter, which is scheduled for a 5:45 tipoff. McKenzie Curtis, Mariah Jones, Max Kohlstedt and Malea Nelson will receive recognition from the younger cheerleaders and their coach just before the game starts. The seniors will be escorted by their parents or siblings down a walkway on the basketball court which will created by the cheerleaders. The celebration also will included being served a Chipotle dinner during the game.

“I am really looking forward to spending the last game with the people I love,” Curtis said. “I grew up with them, and it is like a big finally from the past for years. I am excited to perform all the hard stunts and show off all our cool tricks.“

Sophomore Bekah Cruise said the evening will be bittersweet.

“The whole cheer team is really going to miss all the seniors next year,“ Cruise said. “The seniors are a great influence and a strong part to our team. The upperclassmen under the seniors are going to have to step up to replace them and hopefully our team can do just as good without them, even though we are going to miss the seniors a lot.”
