Freshman Michael Shapira swam the 100 free in 52.10 seconds, placing eighth put of 16 teams at the Cape Coast Conference meet at the Cocoa Beach Aquatic Center on Oct. 6.
“I was not feeling my personal best during Cape Coast, and yet I still almost swam my personal best,” Shapira said. “It definitely gave me a good insight for the future.”
Head coach Randy Johnson said he is proud of his divers for breaking a school record.
“The divers were very impressive,” Johnson said. “New school record.”
Johnson is making sure to get the team prepared for districts, which will take place Oct. 17.
“I got us split up by lane, and we’re going to go over our strategies and techniques,” Johnson said.
