Boys’ lacrosse team defeats Sebastian River on Friday

During the boys’ lacrosse match Feb. 23 against Sebastian River High School, sophomore Michael Carroll scored four points and freshmen Collin Munro scored three points. The team won 7–5.

“The game was really well-played in my opinion,” Carroll said. “I scored a good amount of points. We worked well together, but I think we need more experience together and we will work perfectly together, but the game could have ended earlier.”

Carroll and Munro have been the lead scorers since the lacrosse season started, with Carroll averaging 2.5 goals per game and Munro averaging 2 goals.

“I think we need to make some improvements, but it was a good game,” freshman Treven Lynes said. “We played great defense, so it contributed to the win. I was really perplexed by the skills of Michael and Collin; they are probably our most valuable players as of right now.”

This marks the first win of the season.

“It’s a great win; we did good and had lots of fun,” Munro said. ‘We need to fix a lot with the team just from the standpoint that we can always get better. I think me and Michael were the most valuable reason that we scored all the goals. We have been really improving together this season.”

The Wildcats will play Edgewood High School at home Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.

“This is just a start of a win streak for us,” Munro said. “I believe the first two losses were just getting used to our team. I think this game is going to give us momentum to persevere and beat every other high school we go through this season. I hope for the best.”
