Boys’ lacrosse ready for Bulldogs

Taking the field, the boys’ lacrosse team will be playing against local rival, Melbourne High Bulldogs in “the game of the year” at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Junior, Ryan Bellone said this game will be a turning point for the team.

“We have been practicing all week and preparing to run new plays against them,” Bellone said. “We hope to fill the stands with Wildcat fans.”

Former West Shore lacrosse players Chance Baker and David Marks will start for the Bulldogs, who are in their first season of existence.

“I’m really excited for Wednesday, it’s going to be extremely close,” Baker said. “I look forward to seeing all the kids at West Shore.”

Recently, the Bulldogs have lost to Eau Gallie 11-10 in double overtime.

Varsity Coach Dallas Livingston said that match-up is key because West Shore should have beaten Eau Gallie.

“If we are on our A-game and show hustle we have a good chance of beating Mel,” Livingston said. “I think the boys can do it.”
