Chorus to channel Disney at concert

West Shore’s chorus will perform its last concert of the year Thursday in the Eau Gallie High School auditorium. To commemorate the occasion, as well as the theme of Disney, chorus members will be dressing up as Disney characters.

“It’s a little bit embarrassing to dress up,” junior Sterling Anderson said. “But I think that it’s a creative idea and that a lot of kids and even adults will enjoy it.”

Anderson, as a member of women’s chorus, will be dressing up as a fairy. Each chorus class has been assigned a different theme. For chamber chorus, this theme is Mickey and Minnie, while middle-school chorus adopts a more assorted theme, selecting among Disney princesses.

This final concert is the culmination of a successful year for chorus, which included earning two ratings of excellent at the Musical Performance Assessments.

Junior Hannah Montgomery, also a member of women’s chorus, is looking forward to the event.

“Because of the Disney theme, all the songs are Disney-related,” Montgomery said. “I’m excited for the concert. We’ve been preparing for months, and I know we’re ready.”
