Space Coast Crew participated in the Southeast Youth Rowing Championship regatta May 14-15 at Lake Lanier, Gainesville, Ga., the site of the 1996 Olympics. Thirty-nine teams from seven states competed.

The Men’s Lightweight 4, with West Shore rowers Stephen Vaughn, Ryan Everest and Adam Sanchez, placed third. The Women’s Lightweight 4 came in second place in their heat and fifth place in the final with West Shore rower Julia Rauchfuss and the Women’s Novice 4 team came in second place in their heat and fifth place in the final with West Shore rowers Olivia Humphrey, Julia Levy and Allanah Stewart.

In other news, Space Coast Crew is offering three summer camps, June 20-24, July 18-22 and August 1-5 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for those interested in trying the sport.  More details can be found at www.spacecoastcrew.org.
