Parents to school set for Nov. 17-18

Take Our Parents to School Days have been scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

“A lot of parents know our teachers do a great job but don’t know how they do that great job, ” Assistant Principal of Facilities Jim Melia said. “When parents come to school with their students, a light bulb goes off in their heads and they realize how fantastic our teachers actually are through the student and teacher interactions.”

Melia suggested that parents refrain from using cell phones or leaving early.

“One of the things that I really don’t like is when parents use their phones during the day,” Melia said. “We’ve had parents bring backpacks and stuff like that and that’s what I think it’s really about, seeing our school.”

Melia said he is expecting about 70 parents for the two days.

“A lot of my friends know my dad, so he wanted to go so he could see them,” sophomore Ryan Robidoux said. “I’m not really sure how the day’s going to go, but I’m looking forward to the surprise.”

Parents should park by the east gate behind the media center. They must register in the media center no earlier than 8 a.m.
