The competition hosted by the Slam Poetry Club originally scheduled for Dec. 8 has been delayed. A new date for the Slam Off is yet to be determined.

“I will show up to the Slam Off but Thursday Power Hour B doesn’t work well for my schedule,” freshman Elena Konicki said.

 Club sponsor Kimberly Walling said rescheduling the Slam Off was a good idea.

“The members have a busy schedule,” Walling said. “Having extra preparation time will make the event more exciting to watch.”

Freshman Hannah Jones said she’s prepared to present her poems when the date comes.

“I’m excited, but of course, I’m also really nervous to present my own [poem] because I only have one hand to do my hand motions,” she said.
