The girls’ soccer team traveled to Orlando to face Bishop Moore Catholic High School last Thursday. The Lady Wildcats found themselves nervous for the regional semifinal match, and were unable to overcome the speed of the Hornets, falling 2-1.

“We are anxious,” junior Claire Rauchfuss said before the match. “Bishop Moore is a good team, I’d say evenly matched with us, and we have had disappointing  performances in the regional playoffs in the past. However, I’m comforted by the fact that we’re prepared for the competition. The team has put it in a lot of work for this game, and we are more ready than ever for Thursday.”

While Rauchfuss’s assessment was accurate, the Wildcats were on the losing end of a one-goal game, ending their season, as well as the careers of the five seniors, Sarah Brusca, Desiree Shields, Jenna Forry, Briana Basta and Micah Weber.
