Acting out the motions of a muscle contraction, seniors Nicole Topp, Ashleigh Rabel, Nazish Mirza and Jack Nevins, join senior Natalie Mann, who plays the role as a sarcoplasmic reticulum, holding the calcium ions. “Doing hands on labs has really helped me to understand the concepts of the movements going on within our own bodies,” Mann said. With the help of this lab and many others, teacher Sherie Jenkins attempts to give her students a well-rounded education on human anatomy .
