Class officers gear up for leadership training

Senior Class officers are preparing for a field trip Nov. 16, where they will be going to the On The Edge Rock Climbing Gym, with the officers from Junior Class and National Honor Society.

“We do a little leader leadership training, slash trust training,” club sponsor Melissa Henderson said.  “We went last year, and it was such a success. The kids talked about it for a long time.”

The officers will be there all day, and then in the end they’ll get to climb the rock climbing wall.

“I am super excited to go to On The Edge with my fellow officers as well as all the other club leaders,” Senior Class Historian Lyndsay Yandell said.  “I think we have a high level of trust already because we have known each other for so long, but it never hurts to have that extra push in a positive direction.  The field trip will help us as leaders to continue the success that has already begun this school year.”

Other club officers also are excited for the field trip.

“It will be the first time this year that all the officers from NHS, Junior Class and Senior Class will be together — giving us the opportunity to bond and become closer,” NHS Treasurer Lesley Wright said.  “We’re going to On the Edge as a leadership field trip, so hopefully we’ll come back not only being able to work better together, but also with the skills we’ll need to improve organization within all three clubs.”
