Girls’ tennis wins against Edgewood 6-1

The girls’ tennis team pounded Edgewood 6-1 Tuesday.

“It went pretty well,” junior Sidney Jones said. “The win against Edgewood was expected, and I’m really proud of the team. ”

Sidney Jones played a doubles match with junior Erin O’Brien, winning 8-2.

“We totally dominated Edgewood,” Coach Springer Jones said. “I expect [the girls] to win every district match except Holy Trinity.”

Junior Samantha Nukala lost against her opponent 8-6.

“It was so embarrassing. I should’ve been more consistent. I started out pretty rough,” Nukala said. “And by the time I gained momentum, it was too late. [I need to work on] my serve. I double-faulted a lot.”
