Senior Robert Madden scored on a penalty kick and on two unassisted goals as the boys’ soccer team defeated the Bayside Bears 7-1 Monday night.

“I was stoked that I got my first hat trick,” he said. “I really wanted one before I graduated, so it was nice that I got one.”

Junior Keegan Scauman scored a header on a corner kick from Madden and juniors Sam Leighton, Nick Pekmezian, and sophomore Brandon Benitez all scored one goal assisted by junior Jared Duncan and senior Brandon Sepulveda.

“Their goal resulted from us underestimating them as an offensive team,” senior goalie Allan Joyner said. “Our defense wasn’t expecting them to have such a fast offense.”
