Varsity girls’ team scrimmages against JV boys

The girls’ soccer team lost 6-0 in a scrimmage against the boys’ junior varsity team on Oct. 26.

“It was our first time all playing together as a new team and we are also trying a new formation with three in the back line,” junior winger Kate Burgess said.

Senior defender Lindsay Gill called the match productive.

“The scrimmage wasn’t our best performance,” she said. “We had multiple people out. But I think the scrimmage was good practice for us, because we are switching to a new formation so it helped us see where and how we are suppose to play. I hope we can scrimmage them again in the future as a rematch because I think the results will be way better.”

Burgess said the match was necessary because the team didn’t have a preseason.

“We needed to sort stuff out before the actual season kicks off” she said. “The majority of our team is seniors and we have a lot of returning varsity players, so I think we will be all right.
