Orchestra triumphs at MPAs

The West Shore chamber orchestra earned straight superiors at MPA. Superior is the highest rating a group can get, and after playing three prepared compositions and sight reading one, the orchestra earned a superior for every piece.

All-state violist junior Zach Zaroogian says he attributes this to the orchestra’s preparation.

“We all practiced the music hard, and worked on sight reading techniques in class that allowed us to have a good performance,” Zaroogian said. “We have a very good orchestra this year and we were able to master our pieces.”

All-state violinist Andrew Leonard has a different idea about the orchestra’s success.

“The music was easier than last year, and the judges went pretty easy on us,” Leonard said.

The next chamber orchestra concert is on April 4 after school.
