Mass quarantine causes juniors to miss SAT
March 11, 2021
On March 3rd, the SAT took place for our junior class at 8:30 in the morning. The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States and is required for Florida colleges in order to be granted admission. During the morning of the test, administration and guidance had to send over 30 students home due to a COVID-19 contacting case before the test could take place.
Junior Rachel Benezra reflects her frustration.
“I was really upset when I was quarantined 10 minutes before the SAT,” Benezra said. “I have studied for months and the makeup SAT is online which I believe I will not perform as well on as opposed to pen and paper.”
Junior Kelly Logan shares similar disappointment with the last second cancellation.
“This kind’ve worked out for the best,” Logan said. “I really didn’t study for this due to be stretched out with my other classes. I look forward to making up the test.”
