Literary magazine returns after three-year hiatus

“Alter Ego,” the school’s literary magazine is making progress on its first issue in three years. The club went dormant due to COVID-19, but is starting back up again, choosing the word “Resurgence” as its publication theme.

“Natalie Garden is our digital art director, Taelyn Tolle is our traditional art director, Claire King is our student art curator, Rhea Sinha is our design editor, Elena Konicki is our treasurer, Izzy Pearson is the creative writing editor and Sophia Fetouh is the poetry editor,” Editor in Chief Shaila Venkat said. “Madeline Smith works as a fundraising coordinator as well.”

The club is also working on fund-raising plans.

“The funding would pay for the printing, binding and copying of the literary magazines,”  Konicki said. “Originally we were going to do candy-grams: similar to Valentine’s carnations, but winter and holiday themed.”

The club also plans to hold a car wash and is currently working out the logistics.
