Girls defeat Cocoa Beach in close game
January 7, 2023
The girls’ varsity basketball team defeated Cocoa Beach 57-52 Friday.
Junior Jaylynn Jeter said the team has errors to fix, but the team also did well.
“The game started off bad, but after halftime we came back stronger,” she said. “Something we can work on is starting off strong from the beginning and maintaining it throughout the game.”
The team overcame the challenges faced during the game.
“Something we did well was maintaining our cool with some of the refs’ calls, or calls that didn’t happen,” Jeter said.
However, there were still positives to take away from the game.
“We improved at running the offense at a good pace, which was an important factor,” Jeter said.
With a 7-8 record, players are anticipating winning the next few games to obtain a winning record, and are looking forward to playing Bayside on Monday.
