Eighth-graders lead girls’ basketball past Cocoa Beach

Eighth-grader Erynn M. scored 21 points to lead the varsity girls’ basketball team past Cocoa Beach 43-42 Wednesday night.  Eighth-grader Evelyn H., who scored 7 points, said she still wants to see improvement.

“I felt like we did not do as well as we could have during the game,” Evelyn said. “We beat them last time and they really wanted to beat us this time, but I’m proud of the way we finished.”

Junior Kahlia Hsieh said the team could have won by more than one point.

“I think we could have done better, because in the past we’ve beaten Cocoa Beach, but they really wanted to beat us this time and the game was very close all the way through,” Hsieh said. “However, at the end of the game, everyone was playing really hard.”

Hsieh said she is still proud of the team even though it wasn’t their best game.

The 10-9 Lady Wildcats will celeble their senior night game tonight at 7 against the Edgewood Red Wolves.
