JV rally fall short in season’s final game

The JV boys’ basketball team has struggled with winning games for a few years and now yet another season has ended in a loss after the boys’ were defeated by the Cocoa Beach Minutemen 45-39 Wednesday night. The team finished its season with a 3-12-0 record which, although still below their expectations, it is an improvement from their winless season as year ago.

“We’ve come a long way,” sophomore Sam Tsark said. “We’re starting to find our fight, find who we are as a team and find where we want to get too.”

The end of the game was fast-paced and intense, with the Wildcats flashing evidence of season-long growth, according to sophomore Luke Marzano.

“Although our last game was a loss, we ended the season on a good note,” he said. “The end of that game was a fight, it was a real game. We finally played as a team and for each other, and we almost brought ourselves back. Although it wasn’t the ideal outcome, the end of this season gives me hope for the future.”

Freshman Jesse Bartman agreed.

“I thought it was one of our best games,” he said. “We were able to make a lot of our shots but we still have a lot of offensive work, defensively we are pretty strong but that could be improved too. Overall we’ve come a long way but, we still have a ways to go, however I’m excited for the future.”
